Jax Jackson is a visual artist based out of Charlotte, NC. He creates contemporary abstract designs using primarily acrylic and spray paint, Jax creates a mutual correlation of colors within his work. As a self taught artist Jax’s style is derived from experimenting with the natural occurrence of movement and energy combined with the utilization of tools and brushes. His work is purely abstract and two-dimensional. The use of geometric forms is used throughout his work to communicate the complexity of design, in which consist of a fair exchange of ideas, thoughts, and perceptions to be taken in by its viewer.
Jax is a University of North Carolina - Charlotte graduate with a bachelors degree in Social Work. Jax has much experience with teaching school-aged children, in addition to the special education population. Currently, Jax is an independently contracted art facilitator, in which he models strength-based practices in his approach. In the future, he plans to combine his social work skills with artwork and open up art schools within the Charlotte area.
In this way, he hopes to turn Charlotte into a hub for all forms of art. "Art is my way out of societal restraints, and the individuals I inspire will soon discover their escapes as well."
As a reflection of his passion for community involvement, Jax founded an outreach program in Charlotte, NC. In his leisure, he spends time working with various groups whom reside in his community and surrounding areas. Solely to educate and encourage them to become positive role models within their families and communities through dedication, outreach, and commitment.
Jax faithfully donates a percentage of his earnings from his artwork sales to help fund the program.
